Beomaster 2400 (1976 - 1979)
Based upon the Beomaster 1900, the Beomaster 2400 was an updated version of the previous receiver and fitted with ultrasonic remote control. The later models were provided with a facility whereby compatible products could ‘talk’ to each other. Forerunner to the true Datalink system, this earlier version meant that by pressing for example ‘PH’, on the receiver, the turntable would start automatically. Likewise, by pressing the start button on the record deck, the receiver would start up automatically too. Beogram 4004, and then the Beogram 2400 and 2402 were suitable record decks for this purpose. This earlier system and true Datalink of later years were incompatible systems.
The Beomaster 200 Commander remote control handset was basic but functional. With it, one could select any of four pre-set radio stations, turn on the record deck, turn up or down the volume level and switch off the system, putting the receiver and turntable into stand-by. There was no facility for control of any cassette deck.
Beomaster 2400-2 (1979 - 1982)
Beomaster 2400.2 replaced its forerunner in 1979. Styling changes were made but little internally was changed.
