Before the AV Terminal all Bang & Olufsen’s remote control handsets could control either audio sources or video sources. The AV Terminal brought the control of both audio and video products together using the one handset.

The concept was an important one for the company and one which has since been developed further with newer handsets such as Beo4 and Beo5. However, it all started with this one remote control which used the type of digital control language which has remained with Bang & Olufsen products ever since.

A little larger in size than that of the V Terminal and A Terminal the AV Terminal housed both audio and video selector buttons together with an LCD display to signal the mode in operation. When the AV Terminal was subsequently replaced by the Beolink 1000 the keys were streamlineda nd the LCD removed.

Like the A Terminal and V Terminal, the AV Terminal was black and dark grey in colour.
