With its three-way speaker system, the Beovox S45.2 (shown on the left of the image below) replaced the original S45 in 1978 and comprised a 200mm woofer, 90mm mid-rangeunit as well as a 25mm tweeter. Immensely popular over the years, the S45/S45.2 range could be positioned either within a shelving system else on its own special optional floor stand.
The speaker offered a full frequency range of 38 - 20KHz and less than 1% harmonic distortion with its linear phase sound reproduction.
Looking similar to its smaller counterpart, the S45.2 was just a little deeper than the Beovox S35.
A single two-pin DIN socket allowed for connection to a musical source when the Beomaster 2400 was the recommended receiver/amplifier.
In later years it was replaced by the Beovox S55 within Bang & Olufsen’s updated Uniphase loudspeaker range.
