With its 25″ screen, the Beovision LX5000 was the smaller version of its bigger brother, the 28″ Beovision LX6000. The two sets were to be the final televisions offering wooden cabinets. Afterwards all TV sets would be either in a painted finish or have moulded plastic casings.
The Beolink 1000 was the remote control recommended although could handle any of the (then) range of terminals.
A Black Line CRT was fitted and VisionClear was standard. Stereo reception was obtained by either the fitted A2 or NICAM decoders.
Good quality sound was obtained from its bass reflex speaker system.
A Beocord VX7000 hi-fi video recorder could be combined with the television as well as a Beosat LM satellite decoder. There were sufficient onboard connections for use with other A/V products. A headphones socket was found at the front of the unit.
The televisions were excellent additions to the range but with technologies rapidly changing, both of these LX sets would be the last models manufactured in the more ‘traditional’ materials. The Beovision LX5000 was therefore not replaced as such as the Beovision MX6000 offered so much more in a smaller amount of space.
