Following on from the smaller BeoVision 10-40, the BeoVision 10-46 was announced by Bang & Olufsen in January 2010 and was available to purchase from the end of March 2010. The smallest BeoVision 10 - the BeoVision 10-32 - was introduced at the end of 2010.

This new 46″ model was the bigger brother to the 40-inch version and featured the same technical specifications, including integrated 200Hz capabilities as well as an Edge LED backlight.

The BeoVision 10-range of LCD televisions incorporated the slimmest display screen which Bang & Olufsen has ever designed and could be placed on a wall or on its own specially-crafted floor stand. The television looked very similar to BeoVision 9 (and indeed BeoVision 5) with its extremely slim aluminium frame surrounding both the viewing screen and the cloth-covered active loudspeakers, situated beneath.

Simple to use, the ‘artist’s easel’ TV could be positioned at an angle of up to 45° from the wall.

Its sound quality - as one would expect - was second to none with a trumpet-shaped bass port solution eliminating any turbulent noise. State of the art LED backlight technology allowed its LCD viewing screen to be slimmer and more efficient than similarly-sized units.

The front cover of BeoVision 10 could be changed quickly, with magnets holding the cloth-covered acoustically-thin speaker frets in situ. A range of covers - in different colours - was available. From September 2011 the BeoVision 10-46 was available in a new coffee-colour: the BeoVision 10-46 Chanterelle.

The front of the TV was covered by a sheet of elegant protective glass and framed by a high-gloss polished aluminium frame on both front and rear, only a few centimetres wide.

BeoVision 10-46

In the wake of the tremendous success of BeoVision 10-40, the slim 40-inch flat screen TV that Bang & Olufsen launched in October 2009, the company is expanding its portfolio with a new member of the BeoVision 10 family – now available in 46 inches.

The extremely positive reception of BeoVision 10-40 has resulted in Bang & Olufsen deciding to accelerate its introduction of a larger member to the BeoVision 10 family. A 46-inch version of BeoVision 10 will be available in Bang & Olufsen stores from April 2010.

Magazines and reviewers have welcomed the BeoVision 10 concept with open arms and its popularity is expressed by Rasmus Larsen from the Danish e-magazine FlatpanelsDK who did a review of the elegant flat screen:

“BeoVision 10 is the epitome of Bang & Olufsen quality – stylish, elegant, and sturdy,” Larsen states. Also when it comes to sound and image performance of the flat screen TV, Larsen is very enthusiastic: “The picture quality on the BeoVision 10 is exceptionally good in practice. It has an incredible wealth of detail.”

He continues: “Despite its slim cabinet, the BeoVision 10 delivers an incredibly full sound through its innovative speaker system, with good bass and midrange reproduction.”

Although built on the same chassis as BeoVision 10-40, the 46-inch version introduces a few new additions. Besides giving a viewing area that is 32 percent bigger in square centimetres, the visual appearance of the 46-inch TV differs a bit from that of its smaller sibling. The rear cover has been changed to white instead of black, giving the product a lighter expression and supporting the concept of having a TV that blends in with the wall.

BeoVision 10-46 is a full HD TV with a new and exciting LED-based, 200/240 Hz LCD panel with impressive picture performance applying the absolute latest picture improvements technologies. The 200/240 Hz technology combined with sophisticated motion compensation technologies take the motion performance of the LCD panel to a yet unseen level of smoothness.

The LCD panel inside offers the latest in edge-type LED technology with the LEDs placed at two sides only – top and bottom of the panel – as the efficiency of the LEDs has improved significantly and this optimises the picture uniformity.

Besides a fantastic picture, the slim beauty offers an impressive sound performance as well. BeoVision 10-46 has an integrated stereo speaker placed below the screen and covered by a fabric front. It offers integrated surround sound and DVB-HD module, electronic curtains and an even more extensive connection panel allowing you to add up to five extra speakers for a surround sound setup and a multitude of set-top boxes if needed.

With BeoVision 10-46 it is possible to choose between a total of six colours for the speaker front cover, so you can change the colour to match the décor of your living room. This is easily done as the front cover is just clicked on with magnets.

Whichever size you prefer, with BeoVision 10 you’ll get a unique flat screen TV that is an absolute delight to the eye and ear – and to your home décor.

BeoVision 10 range comparison

From September 2011 the BeoVision 10-46 was available in a new coffee-colour: the BeoVision 10-46 Chanterelle.

Bang & Olufsen launches BeoVision 10 with new visual expression

Bang & Olufsen’s elegant BeoVision 10 television, which recently was offered in Limited edition under the name Chanterelle, is now offered in a new colour design and with a new stand option, which truly sets this TV apart from anything else on the TV market.

Bang & Olufsen’s highly acclaimed TV concept, BeoVision 10, is now offered in a new variant, which gives the TV a whole new visual expression. The new version of BeoVision 10, which is characterised by a black high gloss polished aluminium frame in combination with a new red fabric front colour, can be placed on the floor thanks to the new easel stand, which makes the TV lean back in a casual way - as a painting on an easel.

New frame design opens up new design possibilities
The black high gloss frame is offered as an alternative to the standard high-gloss natural aluminium frame. Whereas the natural aluminium frame takes up the colour of the wall and becomes almost invisible, the black frame merges with the black screen in a way that makes the surface stand out from the wall. The combination of the black frame and the red front cover emphasizes the contrast and sculptural effect of the TV and signals warmth, strength and comfort at the same time.

New placement opportunity
The existing placement options for BeoVision 10, i.e. wall placement and floor placement on motorised stand, are now extended with the new easel stand. The new easel stand will be available for all TV sizes (32”, 40″ and 46″), with either a black or white rear plate to match the selected cabinet and aluminium spikes that secures a light expression.
