Friday, 20th February, 2009With world economic problems escalating from ‘recession’ to ‘depression’ and total world sales of the company nosediving in a way like never before, Bang & Olufsen A/S is to convene an extraordinary general meeting on 4 March 2009.
Fewer sales means means fewer workers needed to make products. And with individuals - in such debt-ridden countries as the UK and USA - losing their homes and houses as though they have suddenly gone out of fashion, and not requiring high-end ‘keeping up with the Joneses’ hi-fi and video equipment, the company finds itself in a situation even worse than that of the early 1990s when Bang & Olufsen almost ceased to exist.
