Saturday, 21st April, 2012As stated by BeoPhile.com on 21 February 2012, the upcoming year promises to be an exciting one for Bang & Olufsen, especially its new subsidiary, B&O Play: “We are launching a handful of new B&O PLAY products in 2012. We will introduce new headphones and we will introduce a new TV. But we will stick to classic B&O virtues and will only introduce complete products. We are not going to pump out new B&O PLAY products” stated Vice President of B&O PLAY, Henrik Taudorf Lorensen a couple of months’ ago.

“In the fourth quarter which covers April, May & June 2012, Bang & Olufsen will launch a new television concept, in the B&O Play sub-brand, of which we have very high expectations “ the company further announced in their Press Release earlier this year.
BeoPlay V1 will be announced at a Press Conference on 2 May 2012 (Denmark 17h30 - 19h00). The new television will be the first video product within the new B&O Play line which targets consumers with products which are a little cheaper as compared to traditional Bang & Olufsen products. Some see it as the replacement for the BeoVision 8, now no longer manufactured.

The company also mentions that they have “other” new products coming this coming summer including the addition of AirPlay to the BeoSound 8. The new product will be known as BeoPlay A8 with prices of current stocks of BeoSound 8 being reduced from now until the time of the launch. Consult your dealer for price reductions on the current BeoSound 8 model which should be around 830 euros. Know that there’ll be a glut of older BeoSound 8 models at good prices for sale once the new AirPlay model is released!
