Recently announced by Mercedes-Benz is their 2013 edition of their prestigious SL550 sports car. Starting at $106,375 (US) the car comes with 12-way power-heated seats, panorama sunroof within the folding roof and the company’s COMAND info-tainment navigational system. The 550 is equipped with a refined 429 HP, twin-turbocharged 4.6-litre V-8 engine. Among others, a Bang & Olufsen high-end car hi-fi system is an available option:
- Package 1 ($4900): Including a backup camera, active parking assistance, ventilated seats & adaptive seat cushions
- Driver Assistance package ($2950): Adaptive cruise control with Pre-Safe collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring system & lane-keeping assist
- Sport Wheel package ($2000): Sport brake system, 19-inch five-spoke AMG wheels
Optional extras include: analogue dashboard clock ($250); wood & leather steering wheel ($590); Active Body Control adaptive suspension ($4090); ‘Magic Sky Control’ electro-chromic sunroof glass ($2500); 19-inch split-five-spoke wheels (shown below, at $500); and a Bang & Olufsen surround sound audio system at $6400.

The new Mercedes-Benz SL550 will be available from May 2012 with a higher-specified 530-hp SL63 AMG version to be released later this year.
