Plastic bling
Thursday, 29th September, 2011Hot on the heels of Bang & Olufsen’s recent announcement of a cheaper sub-brand appear the coloured version of the Form 2 headphones which have been produced by the company for the past quarter of a century (in trusted (and more discrete) black and aluminium). In what seems a vain attempt to gain the interest of younger, more ‘hip’ consumers (in the approach to Christmas) come colours to turn off the most stalwart of Bang & Olufsen collectors… sure, the sound is just the same, but BeoPhile.com is not really of the opinion that many middle-aged, middle-income individuals will rush out to Bang & Olufsen stores with cheque-books in hand to purchase these ‘cheap-looking imitations’ of a Bang & Olufsen classic.
If these are to be the first products of Bang & Olufsen’s new sub-brand then we are really quite unsure as to how the rest of the upcoming line-up will both look and fare. On form? We think not.

As an afterthought, it may have been a wasted opportunity that the B&O logo on the headphones does not illuminate…? They then could’ve looked even more ‘blingified’!
