Coffee time
Wednesday, 7th September, 2011With a limited edition of just 500 examples, Bang & Olufsen recently announced that its BeoVision 10-46 would soon be available in a new coffee colour, which the company defines as ‘chanterelle’. A little warmer than the gold versions of their popular products but without the ‘bling’ image!
The reason behind this new colour choice has been carefully thought out by the David Lewis Design Studio: “Having the existing BeoVision 10 in mind, which design-wise signalises high-tech, we were looking for a softer and less high-tech look inspired by the part of Scandinavian interior design, which is dominated by materials such as genuine wooden floors and furniture, and warmer colours. The design language of Chanterelle is more inspired by human minimalism marked by calm shapes and friendly materials” stated the Studio’s Torsten Valeur.
With a limited number available, Bang & Olufsen expects the interest in BeoVision 10-46 Chanterelle to be high. There has already been a pre-order of numbers 8 and 88 by Chinese customers as the Chinese believe these numbers represent luck, wealth and prosperity. Every single Chanterelle TV is uniquely engraved on the set’s rear profile.

Coffee complement
To accompany the BeoVision 10-46 Chanterelle Limited Edition, BeoLab 6002 will also be offered in the new coffee-coloured chanterelle hue. The rear part is manufactured in dark-brown anodised aluminium with its facing fabric matching the front of BeoVision 10-46. This specific colour for BeoLab 6002 is only available if purchased together with BeoVision 10-46 Chanterelle.
And with the new BeoVision 10-46 Chanterelle Bang & Olufsen is also launching its new floor stand - using two ’spikes’ which anchors it to the floor - which is also available for other BeoVision 10 models.
